Karen Azevedo is my first Featured Quilter for the Love of Linens exhibit in Houston. I first met her "on line" and we quickly became very good friends. I've had the pleasure of staying in her home in Colorado and couple of times.
She loves vintage linens and lace as much as I do and is completely obsessed with creating fabulous linen wholecloth quilts on her longarm. I still don't know how she gets the tiniest details so perfect.
One of Karen's favorite handwork projects is French Boutis. Two layers of fabric are hand quilted together with tiny stitches and stuffing is sandwiched between sections of the design, creating a raised effect. She has created some beautiful masterpieces and has started collecting old vintage pieces as well.
You will be in awe of the many pieces she is featuring at the exhibit. They are unusual, detailed, and have beautiful beadwork as well.
We will both be at the exhibit 99% of the time and she will be your "how to" source of information on creating a linen wholecloth quilt on a long arm.
Thank you Karen!
Big Hugs, Cindy :)
